They keep digging the hole deeper, spending money they don't have. One day it will all cave in, the Dems will blame the Repubs and evil greedy capitalists.

On a sidenote, seems to me those who enter the country illegally, without any consequences, often disregard lots of other laws in society.

From the article:

Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel told FOX Business that the healthcare bill would flood the state with a wave of undocumented workers from other states and other parts of the world.

“It’s going to be utopia for illegal immigrants,” Steel said during an interview on the “After the Bell” program on Monday.

California’s bill would afford protection to illegal immigrants who commit crimes, according to Steel.

“You’re getting welfare benefits, you have free healthcare coverage and then you can hide because government itself is protecting these people even [if] they commit crimes,” she said.

The state’s Legislative Analyst’s Office estimates California’s total cost would be $3 billion in the 2018-2019 budget year.

“When they say it’s $3 billion, you don’t know how much it’s going to cost,” Steel told FOX Business’ David Asman. “We’re talking about 1.2 million people.”

A 2016 study published by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research found that of the $367 billion to be spent on healthcare in the state, about $260 billion will be from taxpayer dollars.

Steel said the new healthcare measure will add to the state’s $1.5 trillion in debt, attributable to the state’s two largest pension funds: California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS) and California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS).

“How are you going to add more money for healthcare coverage for illegals?” Steel asked. “I mean this is almost like obnoxious.”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

How do the Dems blame the Repubs?
When there aren't any to blame? (other than a few Sigforum members behind enemy lines, of course)

When California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS) and California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) go bust are the Dems going to tell the teachers, "Too bad, so sad!"?.

Have a relative who taught 2nd and 3rd grade in California for 30 years. She makes more on retirement with FULL benefits than I EVER made risking my life on the Road as a Cop.
My retirement has ZERO health benefits, those are my responsibility and I get less than 1/3 of what she gets.

I could never understand WHERE Cali could get all the money required to keep a system like that afloat.

I’m at DFW waiting for my flight to Whackyland CA. I’m going out for a little family business and this gives me a great idea.

We should be kind to the local panhandlers in all the other states. They’re standing at all the intersections with signs wanting money. Bums, freeloaders, scammers, you know the ones.

We should give every panhandler a free sign reading PLEASE GIVE, I ONLY NEED ANOTHER $200 TO MOVE ME AND MY FAMILY TO CALIFORNIA. Great weather, lots of free stuff, what’s not to like for them? Make them get on the bus and go.

Bye bye regular normal world, hello California. This should cleanup our local beggars problem.

Pass the plate and donate. Freeloaders, don’t be late, don’t mediatate or hesitate, leave our states, your new state is californicate.

Unfortunately what will happen when Commifornia collapses as a result of all this, is ALL THE REST OF US will be bailing them out.

The federal government will never let CA fail, they will tax the rest of us to bail their dumb asses out. Confused

Well that, but the wall needs to be designed to where it runs along all sides of the Commiefornia border such that no one can leave, save for our fellow SIGForum members who understand this country and what's going on...

And that's EXACTLY what will happen in true government fashion. I have a small inkling of faith that Trump/Pence would just let them slide into the Pacific. Call me a cock-eyed optimist, if you must... Big Grin

Think of CA bonds and pension/retiree commitments as being offered by "Bernie Madoff - Sacramento".

I'm not sure we'd know any difference if it did fail. Their bonds would plummet, but so what?
Nobody with an over-room-temperature IQ should be holding those.

We didn't bail out Bernie's victims, so why would we bail out CA bond-holders?

Their pension holders and retirees and state employees need a long-delayed dose of reality - checks written against an empty bank account can't be cashed. For those currently benefiting from CA state largesse....if you don't already know this, the writing is on the wall.

I'm okay with Jose and hose-b flooding into California for free stuff. When the last one crosses, slam the doors behind them. Throw away the key.

Good strategy. Bus everyone to CA and cleanse the other states. Cut off Federal Funding (about the only thing keeping CA afloat right now) and watch the implosion !
