Yeah. When I'm talking down to people, it's not that I'm being condescending, I'm just communicating to them at a level they can understand.

At least, he didn't try to fake a black southern accent or speak in ebonics.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Another take on it...if he really is correct in his belief that Blacks are "slower" than Whites, then isn't he also quilty of the deady sin of cultural appropriation by talking down to them?

"Maybe the wrong business to be in" - well, at least give him credit for being right once in his life. Not that there are any other businesses for which he would be qualified!

What a maroon!

I'm sure his campaign staff is furious. They now need to figure out how many additional ballot boxes need to be stuffed in the next presidential election.

We should encourage the left on Newsome. Democrats must either find a moderate who can make it through their primary process or find a radical who can convince the general public he's close to the center. Newsome can't win a national election with his record in California. Watching that clip, he may not even be effective in the democratic primaries.

You can tell that A-Aron knew he crossed into that uncomfortable place and that was why he was slowing his speech and stumbling.

He basically walked into the starving tiger's cage in a raw meat suit and realized he could not back out.

This is the attitude of most white liberals, they do not see themselves as equal to anyone on anything.

I cannot understand how so many can follow or support such people, it is an issue of blindness of the mind.

I think he peaked.

How does a 960 become governor? No critical thinking. This score is barely above just writing your name. I think it's worse than random guesses. I scored most of that just on the math section alone.

I have no words.... If this isn't a sign that the system is broken in many ways, I don't know what is.

I know that scores are not all telling. But they sure can be an indicator.

And this country would want a guy with a 960 SAT score to be president? Eek

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

In September 1999, then-Governor of Texas George W. Bush gave a speech to the Latin Business Association about education. America needed to adopt the mindset that every child can learn, he said. “It does not matter if they grow up in foster care or a two-parent family. These circumstances are challenges, but they are not excuses.”

He continued:

"Some say it is unfair to hold disadvantaged children to rigorous standards. I say it is discrimination to require anything less— the soft bigotry of low expectations. Some say that schools can’t be expected to teach, because there are too many broken families, too many immigrants, too much diversity. I say that pigment and poverty need not determine performance. That myth is disproved by good schools every day. Excuse-making must end before learning can begin."

The soft bigotry of low expectations—a powerful phrase crafted by Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson—describes a patronizing and dangerous attitude, cloaked as kindness, that assumes certain people are capable of less because of their race or background.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

What Newsom stepped into is far worse than Hillary or Biden trying to talk black.

Since you put it that way, it's true. I concede.

I'd like to have an audience response meter that measured how many thought, "Did that mo'fo just said he's as dumb as we are?"

Growing up in the area, I knew more than a few people that went to Santa Clara U. Within a few years of G man graduating in ‘89. 960 is not getting you into SCU even on his alleged partial baseball scholarship where he sucked and NEVER appeared in a real college game. Be aware that college baseball unlike college football has very few scholarships. Less than 12. And you need a 35 man roster. Most scholarships are partial. He sucked so much I sought he had a 1/4 or 1/2 scholarship to a D1 program. You folks not from the Bay Area having this douche forced down your throat nah also be amused to know he thre outvtge first pitch at a giants game in 04 when mayor and the announcer said “he played 1B for SCI ( again never) was also drafted by the texas rangers”. Again not ever. He didn’t correct the record for some time. Also that giants opening day pitch was so pathetic he nearly beans a photographer standing outside and behind the batters box.

Me thinks either daddy Getty wrote a check for a new library or daddy the judge called in a few favors
