chbibcI am flawed, but I've raised good kids
Para's post about the upcoming Presidential election got me to thinking about my family. I like to think I am a good person who does his best. I have made mistakes along the way, and know I am flawed. I have two grown children, and I made mistakes with them along the way. There's no manual.

My wife is my rock, and although we argue at times it is fleeting and our disagreements never last.
Despite my imperfections and failures, I am proud of what my two kids have become. They think for themselves and are not hesitant to stand for their beliefs. We have honest discussions about our country and the state of things, and they have become very adept at taking in information, digging and figuring out what's really going on with agendas and narratives. They are not fooled. My son in particular is very good at seeing through the BS.
Lastly, my daughter was invited to be on a boat for the Trump rally on the Niagara River this weekend. She's thrilled (I'm jealous).

chellim1Excellent!
Great job. You should be proud. Raising children successfully is not an easy job, perhaps now more than ever.

rsboloI like hearing that even though we, as parents, are far from perfect our children (with lots of love and continued effort) end up being decent people.
My three teenagers are currently making my 2020 more...hmmmm....exuberant?

mcrimmGreat Post. I also have 2 adult children that I am proud of what they have become in spite of my failures. They both have college degrees and hold good, well paying jobs. Both have married very well and are raising responsible children. What more could a dad ask for?
