Nope I have an Android with fast charging. 19 min from dead to fully charged. 5-6 minutes for 50% charge.

I don’t normally use Bluetooth and prefer it to stay turned off but every time I update my phone, Apple turns it back on for me. Roll Eyes

I expect that's more a low-priority software oversight than purposeful. Same thing happens with my Apple Watch wrt the so-called "private address" setting. Worse: It resets it to "On" whenever the Watch is re-booted. Annoying, but, not the end of the world.

I understand the Apple turns it back on for me part. But a few months back I did an update and Apple turned off my credit card payment notification and I missed the payment. I was pissed.

But...my ancient iphone7 on a pre-historic iOS runs fantastic and performs as new. So make of that what you will.

Thank you for this heads up. I wasn’t having any issues, but I just turned this “feature” off anyway. It’s actually somewhat ironic considering I’m just waiting for the pallet of solar panels outside my shop to be installed and by that time I will be producing more electricity than I will be using most of the time. I do not like virtue signaling.

Thanks. I thought my battery was starting to fail, but it was just this new feature.

I always have to go through the security and privacy settings after an update, which frequently get reset. Never thought to look at the battery settings.

Very bad advice ^^^^^

Most updates contain fixes for security flaws that, should they be exploited on your mobile device, could make for a very bad day.

Perhaps if you're using your mobile devices only for inconsequential web browsing and phone calls, and you don't care if they get 0wn3d and have to be scrubbed if they do: Ok.

But if you're using your mobile devices for anything in the least bit sensitive (banking, on-line purchases, health [doctor, hospital, dentist], password management, electronic wallet [Apple Wallet/Pay, Google Wallet/Pay], email, etc.): It would behoove you to keep them up-to-date.
