Retro NES help
So in a fit of nostalgia, I hooked up my NES last night to play some Final Fantasy and Mario 3. After a good bit of blowing on the cartridges, I got the games to work, but my only controller, a NES Advantage, seems to have a problem with the start button so the games keep pausing and unpausing, etc.

The local retro video game store apparently closed its two locations here.

Anyone suggest a reputable place online to get one NES controller?

Fleabay.

You’ll probably have a hard time finding a modern replica with the original NES connectors.

Any chance you could try hitting it with some Deoxit? That may help.

Fleabay is your best bet for game systems, games, and controllers. I picked up all of my N64 controllers on there.

The flea market is a great place to find that stuff. You might try taking it apart and cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol, I did that to an Xbox 360 controller and it worked for me

I took my old NES console apart and cleaned all contacts with 70% isopropanol. I still get to enjoy the light headedness that comes with blowing out the cartridge slot, and still have to find the sweet spot for the cartridges to be positioned, but once the moons align the system works a heck of a lot better than before the cleaning.

I purchased most of my NES, SNES, and N64 games and accessories from here - https://www.gogamers.com - before their retail stores closed around Des Moines, IA.
