I have a Cabelas Jerky Blaster. It isn't hard to make jerky strips out of ground beef/venison. My folks like the ground jerky better than the strip jerky. It just chews easier than the strip!

And it is very tasty!

Yes, essentially jerky flavored Slim Jim's.
They are slightly more moist than the flat strips.
Less work, easier cleanup. What's not to like about that?

So you could pretty easily use one of these contraptions to make a sausage link without a casing?

Gonna have to put one on my Christmas list.
