He has a home forge and enjoys hammering steel. He used a Ford leaf spring for the material.

He used his new automatic hammer machine for my Bowie knife.

The handle is from Zebra wood

I like it. The best part is your friend made it for you. That is awesome. Congrats.

I want a bowie. Is he taking orders?

Very nice, he put a lot of work into that the hand made bolster and butt with the copper spacers look great, presuming he forged them as well?

Fantastic!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Very nice. Why the square corner just above the hilt?

I texted him a couple of the questions.

He’s not ready to take orders yet. He’s still experimenting with different ways and styles of knives.

He did make the bolsters by hand. He said that he tried twice to make them out of brass and failed. He then went with steel and it was very tedious.

Came a long way from this…

That is very impressive. A truly fine gift.

That's very cool! I've been a longtime custom knife collector and appreciate what he did. Leaf springs can make some very tough knives. Jimmy Fikes is a legendary knifemaker and was pioneer in forging. He told me once "I'll go down to the salvage yard and get a good leaf spring for your knife."
