That’s pretty sad. The surgeon’s portion of that bill is probably $700. Probably $1000 for the anesthesia team and another $1000 for the ER doc. So essentially 38000 to the hospital for supplies and staff. Clearly a for profit hospital. This is typical when you look at the percentages in healthcare costs throughout the country.
