I make it a habit to buy an 8-pack (or more) of name brand soap so I'll have plenty on hand. Once I get it home, I'll take it out of the packaging and put it in my cabinet to dry out and harden. When I pulled this particular batch of Irish Spring out of its individual boxes, it came out very wet and slimy. Right now, I have the 8 bars on a cake rack in my guest bathroom that gets very little light and stays cool, i.e., a cool, dry place. After about 5 days, it's still pretty slimy and doesn't show any signs of drying out at all. Does anyone have other suggestions to dry this stuff out, or just have a little patience, wait some more, and the cool, dry place will take care of this in time?? TIA... I don’t know the answer to your question, but the manufacturer changed the formulation of Irish Spring recently and the new formula includes flax oil or some bullshit like that. I don’t know if the new recipe still works to keep rodents out of a vehicle, which is the only reason I bought Irish Spring. If you’re interested in contacting the manufacturer their email address is: colgatepalmolive.com

What I would do is throw it out and buy new soap. If you got time to worry about drying slimy soap out, you got too much time on your hands.

Isn't it really hot in Texas right now? It was last week when I was there. Leave one bar outside in the Sun for an hour or so during the middle of the day and see what happens.
