I have a mont blanc fineliner and I love it. I wish to give it as a gift but I think the recipient might think I was trying to be flashy or such. I really respect the guy so I need to make sure that doesn't happen.

Nevertheless I am looking for another fineliner rather than a roller ball or fountain pen. The ones I find online are all art type pens and that really isn't what I am looking for in a gift.

Any help would be appreciated

Not sure if this helps, but I’ve bought a lot of writing instruments from jetpens.com. They have a huge selection of pens, reasonable prices, and great customer service.

Buy this pen and select the Schmidt 6040 fineliner for your refill option. It is a good fineliner refill, on part with Montblanc's:

I have also found the Schmidt 6040 refill to fit well in the Kaweco Dia 2 rollerball pen, though you would obviously have to order the refills and swap them out yourself:
