I have a large deck on the rear of my house. It was painted in 2017 with Sherwin Williams SuperDeck Deck and Dock Coating. This is a thick solid water based coating. Not a stain. I believe it is just an elastomeric paint. I've pressure washed it and now need to repaint it. The wife and I hate the color anyway. What have you used and how has it held up? Three years seems a short time to need repainting. Northern exposure in the humid south. Mildew is an issue. Thanks for any suggestions!

How about some boat deck paint? Can't beat the look of some hand-tipped Wet Edge from Total Boat. It's non ablative and looks like it was sprayed on. Or you could go with the tread paint for grip. that Wet edge is high gloss. Don't need that much reflective finish. Thanks for the reply.

Sherwin Williams Duration has worked good for me on our deck skirt boards and posts. I also painted my steel siding with it in 2016. "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

Duration should work for the price. One review stated it was hard to apply though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I like sikkens products, but the thread specifies paint _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Sikkens Cetol Marine is durable. 2 coats of whichever color (dark/light/natural teak) and then 3 coats of clear, when it looks dull scuff it with a doodle bug pad on a pole, and put another coat of clear or two. I like the Natural teak color. The Sherwin Williams is pretty good too, comes in different colors/shades and honestly I don't think you're going to get more than 3 years out of deck paint in the South.

5 coats over 500 sq. ft plus a 100 linear ft of rail and stiles ain't gonna happen. Pressure washing it was hard enough. The Ace guy recommended the Benjamin Moore Floor and Patio low sheen enamel . Might give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion. I'd try the Sikkens if I had a smaller amount to do. A solid stain would be good too if I didn't already have paint on it.
