When I turned 50 we had fun at my birthday "party" (both daughter's came over) and I took a little ribbing but really didn't think a heck of a lot about it.

When I turned 60, I began to think more about how quickly time was passing, but again, work, family and life in general didn't change much at all.

Today marks the completion of my 70th trip around the Sun, and frankly, I STILL don't feel old. I'm in overall good health, nothing new hurts or quit working, my finances are adequate for my needs and I'm staying physically and mentally busy.

I'm a little bummed that the weather isn't really fit for the motorcycle ride I had planned for today, but there's always tomorrow.

Happy B-day Paul. Embrace your health and overall well being. May it stay that way for many years to come.

Very true.

My genetic inheritance is less than optimal. Both parents (one at 40, one at 66) succumbed to cardiac disease, as did all four of my grandparents (strokes) right around 70. When I hit 40 and thought about that, I started getting really aggressive about taking care of myself.

Now at 70, that has paid off, tho apparently my genes weren't as crucial as I thought. All four of my older brothers (76, 78, 83 and 85) are still around and for the most part in good health.

Happy Birthday. I’m in your camp regarding trips around the sun. While both my wife and I are in good health, I still have a feeling of urgency. We’re considering a move south and I want to get on it. Even though we spend our winters in Florida, Montana summers are just too short.

Happy birthday, Paul!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
