Does Anybody Use "AT&T Call Protect" to Block Spam Calls
It seems like I am getting more and more robocalls. There are a couple apps out there that are supposed to help block calls. I am looking at AT&T Call Protect. Has anyone used this app? Any recommendations on a good robocall screening/blocking app?

Yes, i use the free version AT&T offers, in conjunction with "Do not disturb" feature on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Active and my wife's S6 Active.

I use it and it does a good job. But, with auto robo calls, a new number will be generated and call your phone. You will have to every once and a while put the newer numbers added to Call Protect. But it blocks annoying calls and notifications at least.

I use Mr Number App, when a call comes in it will show spam, political or other type based on users reporting back to the app. It has helped a lot.

Pretty much any number that shows up that's not in my directory gets blocked. Have an iPhone 6s...

Before the days of blocking calls, I used a very simple approach. I set the default ring tone to two seconds of silence as I found that MP3 on the inter-web. I set all members in my call list to some audible ring tone. I never knew about, or gave a rat's ass, about any silent ring tone calls.

I've a similar approach. I have recorded a message that states if they cannot leave a voicemail that my service will block their number...and I do. Been doing this for awhile now and have weeded out many of those "seller calls"

They're getting a little more creative now, or just to get back at me but, I had a call at 2am the other night and my caller ID displayed my phone number!! Those buggers Big Grin

We use it here. It works for the *known* calls.

However, a lot of the robocalls are spoofing caller ID and match the first 6 digits of my cell phone to make it appear like a call from my area. The last 4 digits appear to be random so flagging them as SPAM is like playing whack-a-mole.

I've gotten to the point of if I don't recognize the number, I'm not answering.

I use it and I think it works pretty good. Calls that do get through I block using the Samsung call features, and then I manually block the number. Blocked x 2.
