I have the base model LYRIQ. The manual states that there is a slot for a memory card for recording. I couldn't find it, asked the sales manager where to find it, he told me that was only equipped on some of the higher trim levels.

Same on the EQEV, I'll have to do some research, someone said the USB-C ports in the console would work, others have said something about the glove compartment near the cabin filter is where the SD slot is located, however for now the vehicle software doesn't have the capability activated, supposedly all the parts are in place to facilitate it.
From Eh Eye!
Question: where is the 2025 equinox ev sd card slot locatedOn the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV, the physical SD card slot is hidden deep behind the glove box on the passenger side, positioned right next to the cabin air filter housing.
However, locating it right now will not allow you to store video recordings due to a few critical factors: The physical slot is buried: Accessing it requires dropping down or unfastening the glove box compartment, similar to how you would change the cabin air filter.
The hardware is currently disabled: General Motors included the physical slot and a dedicated circuit (Fuse F31) across its Ultium-platform EVs, but the feature is not yet enabled by software for the Equinox EV. Inserting a card right now will not activate native camera recording.
Misleading Manual References: Early versions of the owner's manual mistakenly stated that the slot was located in the center console or rear trunk compartment, which confused many owners.
Chevrolet built the underlying hardware for a native Surround Vision Recorder, but until GM pushes a future over-the-air (OTA) software update to activate it, you cannot record natively. Drivers looking for reliable video recording currently rely on installing third-party aftermarket dash cam.
Question: Where is the 2025 Cadillac Lyric EV camera SD slot locatedTo store video recordings on a Cadillac Lyriq, your vehicle must be a 2026 model equipped with the Connected Cameras Capable hardware (RPO code UCV) and the Surround Vision Recorder software update.
Older 2023–2025 Lyriq models do not support this built-in recording feature.
USB Drive Requirements: To save footage, plug a compatible storage device into the vehicle's USB port (such as the one inside the center console):
Format: FAT32Speed: USB 3.0Capacity: Minimum 64 GB capacity with at least 32 GB of free space.
How to Enable and Use Recording: Turn the vehicle On and leave it in Park. Open the Recordings app on your central infotainment display. Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your inserted USB flash drive is recognized. Press the Recording button to toggle the feature On. A red dot will show in the status bar indicating active recording

Pipe SmokerQ: If a Tesla is involved in a minor collision, is the video recording of the event lost if the Tesla is subsequently driven?
AI A: Yes, temporary recent video can be lost. Tesla's continuous loop recording overwrites the RecentClips folder (holding the last 60 minutes of footage) roughly every hour. If a minor collision does not trigger an automatic save and you keep driving without manually saving it, the footage will eventually be overwritten and lost.
How Tesla Dashcam Storage Works
- RecentClips Folder: Continuously records your drive in a rolling 60-minute loop and deletes the oldest video automatically.
- SavedClips Folder: Permanently stores video clips when a major safety event occurs (like an airbag deployment) or when you explicitly save the footage.
- Triggering a Save: You can manually lock and save clips by tapping the dashcam icon on the touchscreen, using a voice command, or setting it to save when you honk the horn.
