Seattle and Tacoma are like virtually every other major metropolitan US city for area's of crime.

I never said light rail is safe and take a midnight ride just for fun.

Yes there is violence. And the Police need to get a grip starting at the top.

But to say it is fraught with crime is a bit over dramatic imho. Ymmv.

Avoid area's mentioned If out for the evening make sure you know where you are at.

As I said, the Puget sound area is as beautiful as it gets, especially in the summer.
