Similar conditions are a part of many CC agreements. However, the reason Chase noted for cancelling Flynn's card is epically stupid. If anyone thinks the people at the head of these big companies are bright or special in any way, this is just another example that they aren't.

I just read the same thing on another site. Why can’t a bank just be a bank? Never mind.

I'm sure General Flynn has other options available to him.

I'm with you. I've got too much invested in Chase to pull out for this.

I have no way of knowing but I’ll just take a guess you have a Facebook or Twitter account or both.

And how did you sumise that?

Hangtime, I wonder if you can appreciate the honesty expressed by lastmanstanding and Flash-LB.

Whenever an organization becomes unpopular with some group or other on the internet (in this case, SIGforum), there is pressure for members of that group to avoid said organization. This pressure may be expressed openly or it may be implied, but there is pressure, one way or another.

In my experience, it's unusual in such circumstances for members to say "I cannot sever my relationship with this organization."

Owing none of us any explanation, these two chose to be honest. They didn't have to say a word. As a result of speaking up, they got pinged for being selfish. Does that strike you as warranted?

As to the assumption you have a Twitter and/or a Facebook account, it's not a bad guess, since so many people have accounts with one or both of the aforementioned groups, and the implication is apparent.

I didn't see an Verizon customers jumping off the bandwagon when Verizon went Woke last week. I don't use Verizon so I loudly proclaim my dislike of their Woke culture. I don't drink BRC coffee, so now I call them commies. I like Coke products so I ignore their Wokeness.

I see. That's timely. I use Verizon. My Android phone is 6 years old, has a cracked screen. It no longer gets software updates and certain apps won't run on it any longer, the key one being the app I use to control my primary credit card. I can no longer lock/unlock my CC when I'm away from my PC.

Time for a new phone. It's not my idea; it's planned obsolescence. Verizon, it was fun, but...

Except for one credit card we need to keep with them, we closed all other accounts dealing with Chase. They are too woke for us. We'd been with them for a good 15-20 years. Piss on them.

I have been with AT&T for over 20 years, and receive a 15% military discount plus a discount for having both Cell and Directv.. I have never had any issues with their customer service. We were even able to upgrade our phone while we were traveling around the USA in our RV. Even though our house in 1/2 mile from the boondocks, we are close to a 5G cell tower and my normal connection speed is around 250mpbs. We have unlimited everything. Not the cheapest, but 100% reliable. I purchased my phones directly from Samsung but purchased the AT&T locked phones (S21 5g)

Just make certain they have the coverage you need, where you need it. TMO is a lot better than they used to be, but Verizon and *ick* AT&T tend to be better, still.

I'm with you there. I had so many miserable experiences with the thing that currently calls itself "AT&T", both in my job as a TelCom admin and in private life, I'd use them only if I had no other option.

(N.B.: The thing that calls itself AT&T these days is really SBC. [Which, in turn, is SBC + Ameritech + BellSouth + the real AT&T following bankruptcy.] It is not your daddy's AT&T. Though, of course, they'd like you to believe they are.)

Mint mobile uses T-Mobile towers, very reasonable cost and good customer service. A recent thread here revealed a number of us are pretty happy with Mint.

Yep, and with time, this is where most cellular vendors will be. I've run Mint Mobile for the past 6 months and its been pretty much flawless, all for $17/month.

No twitter as it is of no use to me, facebook I have an annonymous account.

Yes I appreciate their honesty as I'm in the same boat as them. We buy a small minority of product at my business from amazon when they are only vendor in stock and timely. We then resell to customer. Those resells are paid with my amazon prime card, hah. So i get 5 % back too. Amazon is a competitor too and is bleeding customers off. So I'm gliding to a hopefully smooth landing where I sell out or close at a time close to our leases all expire.

It was a provacative post but wanted to see what people would say to the moral dilemma. I'd like to not do anything with them but I have employees to feed and we all are comporomised once we don the straight jacket of commitments and ego.

Sometimes you have beat them at their own game. With credit cards - get a card with the maximum cash back benefits and pay off your full balance every month. Never pay an annual fee. And as previously mentioned - send every offer back to them in their own self addressed envelopes.
