Now, deregulate;
1) Faucets that do not flow
2) Commodes that I have to flush two or three times
3) Showers that take twice as long to rinse the soap off
4) Washing machines that have hot water when it says hot

For more details, here is the EPA news release about "Making Gas Cans Great Again"

Here is the letter the EPA sent to gas can manufacturers

In oil & gas, when we design a sealed tank we install pressure vacuum valves. When you flow into the tank, the valve automatically opens to allow air to escape so pressure doesn't build. When you flow out of the tank, the valve automatically opens to all the tank to suck in air so a vacuum isn't created. There are no electronics and it's purely a mechanical valve. It's just a housing with two different sets of seals held in place by springs (i.e. one set for pressure and one set for vacuum). Therefore, a small and plastic pressure vacuum vent should be possible for gas cans and meet the CFR requirement of being automatic.

About time. I have been ranting about governmental controls causing stupid shit for decades.

Now stop the twice yearly time change , and get rid of the CAFE standards that eliminated small, affordable foreign built pickup trucks.

The EPA sends out a newsletter, maybe weekly? This a link to the official Gov website to sign up:

You’ve always been able to get the cans. You just couldn’t buy the old (functional) nozzles anymore. I guess this means my stash of old “non-compliant” nozzles won’t be worth quite what it used to be, but I’ll be glad to be able to get them again!

I wanted them when I heard they were not going to be available. Just didn’t have the extra cash. I won’t miss it this time around.

I'll never forget when I bought my new (then) truck. The dealer was mentioning diesel exhaust fluid and I said, "Diesel what?". He said, "Diesel exhaust fluid." I thought he was yanking my chain and asked, "Is that like carburetor belts and muffler bearings?"

Stupid shit.

This gas can thing'll be good if it happens. I've spilled far more gasoline out of the ridiculous compliant ones than I ever have from old fashioned ones.

And bring back inexpensive incandescent bulbs.
Two newfangled LED "bulbs" cost me fifteen bucks last week. Similar old-school bulbs would have been a dollar, and would last just as long (without the eco-nightmare when it comes time to dispose of them).

God bless America.

VP Racing never quit making their excellent gas cans. I bought one of those gas cans with the goofy spout and used it once and threw the spout in the trash and bought a normal spout for it.

It would indeed be nice to relax the ridiculous fuel economy and diesel emissions standards that are responsible for little puffed-up engines (that don't even last the length of the car note), stop & start, and DEF.

Recently I have had to drive across country towing loads behind my Duramax. I always carry five 5 gallon jugs of diesel when I do, just in case. Have had to use them more than a few times. The spout systems were stupid and caused spills/drips while emptying the cans, so I modified them. I also bought retrofit vent plugs for each one. Now they work without spillage. Government needs to stay out of these things. It only makes trouble.
