ZSMICHAELVIDEO: Live bull rides shotgun in car, driver gets pulled over by police in NebraskaV
Video at link:
https://wgntv.com/news/video-l...-police-in-nebraska/NORFOLK, Neb. — When police in Nebraska received a call about a car driving with a cow in it, they thought it was going to be a calf. Instead they found a full-sized bull.
Lee Meyer was riding down US-257 with his enormous Watusi bull named Howdy Doody on Wednesday, Aug. 30 when the call came into the police station.
In 2019, Meyer rode with Howdy Doody during a July 4th parade in Neligh, local news reported.
When Meyer was pulled over on Wednesday, his car door had a sign that read “Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Parade – Best Car Entry.” It was unclear what year’s rodeo he had participated in.
The officers performed a traffic stop, let Meyer off with a warning, and asked him to take the bull back home, according to reports.

DentedAlright, I'll play along. Exactly what law would he be breaking? It looks like the car is modified to transport the bull, got plates and the rest of the street legal crap. What would you write him up on? Serious question.

My question as well. There's no statute here that prohibits the transport of bulls in your car.

Here we call that "Leaky Load", which seems appropriate in this situation

. However, there's an exception in the statute for vehicles transporting livestock, so it wouldn't apply here.
I spent 2 hours at work on Wednesday morning chasing a couple of loose Angus steers around a woods and field...I wish they'd been as well behaved and contained as this guy!

trapper189How’d they get him to pull over? Did they PIT’m or just a traditional stakeout? They gave him a warning, but did they actually have a beef with him or were they trying to milk it for the publicity? You gotta be a real stud to drive a car like that. Looks like it’s steers to the right though.

Sig2340If a male bovine rides in the front passenger seat of an automobile, is it shooting the bull or is it sitting bull?
Lord knows, the bullshit will pile up, either way.

Even better, the bull is named Howdy Doody, and it took a doody all over the back of the car.

GeorgeairC'mon man, he was just helping him steer!!!
As to the violation, only thing that came to mind was oversize load without permit given the width. Or unsafe transport of livestock if such a thing exists in NE perhaps.

Ya how do you let him off with a warning if you can’t warm him of consequences if he doesn’t listen? They probably had no clue what to do with it and just warned him, “take it back, or else…”
