I find myself reaching for my BD headlamp over my regular flashlights as this frees up both hands.

I’m still loving the inexpensive ($10 for three) COSOOS 1 AA flashlight. Its beam can be smoothly adjusted from very narrow to a broad even cone or anywhere in between. I use the broad most often. I keep two in my house, one in the car.

Ummmmmmm...just okay. I like the compact size and for close-up work the light is good. Downsides (for me, YMMV) is the switches are small and hard for my arthritic old hands to manipulate and the light seems to be easily washed out.

The light issue is mostly due to my usage pattern: I don't often need light when it's dark out cuz I'm sleeping. I mostly use light for trying to see small details when working on something.

Maybe you should add a headlamp to your repertoire. The beam points wherever your head/eyes do and leaves your hands free. I used several in my former work. Several, because I never really found one that threw a good amount of light and was durable, but I was constantly handling them with greasy fingers.

I actually have two. One just on an elastic headband that throws good light, and another as part of a mag-visor. The mag-visor gets used a lot in my modelling endeavors, the headband one when I can remember to bring it.

Everyday, I use both my O-Light i3T EOS and Seeker 3 Pro. They've worked perfectly for many years.

The Seeker 3 Pro is used every night to walk the dogs. It gets about 30 minutes of use every night.

I'm a fan of O-Light products.
