Power required for heated seat, but not required for soft close.

Thanks V-Tail, that's what I meant for the heated part. Her and I discussed it and we are skipping this part. I told her that her buns are hot enough already. She agreed. Cool

I'm leaning towards the Toto ones but not sure which one. Seems to be some big price differences between models and reviews say their seats are not comfortable. I can get another seat so not a big deal there.

So stay with the shorter model and the original style elongated bowl. We have a new one tha is tall with smaller bowl. I don’t care for the smaller bowl.

The Toto you're hearing about in this thread is the Drake.

This is very much their mid-line model. Great flushing at a good price but without all the flash of their more expensive models.

I was surprised to see that the link to the Drake on Amazon didn't include a seat. The one I have installed in the kid's bathroom came with a slow close seat installed. We go higher end ones for the Guest and Master bath because the wife wanted ones with a sleeker look. While the Drake isn't as nice looking as more expensive models, it certainly preforms just as well.

You really can't go wrong with a Toto and very very folks ever go back to other brands after having had a Toto installed

No, Daoism isn't a religion

Thanks again on the advice.

It seems I'll be going with a Toto Drake or American Standard Champion. I'm leaning towards 1.6 gal, elongated, soft close seat. I'm going to look at sizes/heights again before I pull the trigger...err lever on one.

I love the Toto Drake. Our two bathrooms had them when we bought the house; I considered it one of the two best plumbing features of the home--the other being a Grundfos recirculation pump system.

We also had good luck with Kohler Santa Rosa one-piece toilets in a previous house. More stylish, low back, still flushed fine. But I'd go with Toto.

Are you SURE you don't want "comfort height"? I know squatting is supposed to be better for function, but I am so used to comfort height at my age, I hate going back.

We had all 3 of our toilets replaced with Gerber Viper models and they’ve been great going on 6+ years.

Get the ADA height ones, I did this for our master bath but didn’t for the downstairs powder room and regretted it. That extra 3 inches or so of height makes a big difference.
