Yes. And he couldn’t get gigs on college campuses today to tell people things they don’t want to hear. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

A bit of perspective- The Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Life did not appear on Earth until about 500 million years ago. The dinosaurs, for example, were living for about 170 million years, disappearing approximately 65 million years ago. Try to get your mind around those numbers. Man- who thinks himself so very special- has inhabited Earth for less than 300,000 years in our present form. 170 million years versus 300,000 years. In terms of deep time, we are newcomers. If you ask me, we won't even make it to the half million year mark before we become extinct. At the rate we're going, and with the tremendous surge in human population, we might not make it even to the next century. Imagine Earth with 150 billion people, instead of our present 7 billion. What kind of place would that be? Mother Earth will one day scrub itself of human life, and after us, some new life form will become the dominant species on the planet. Humans are just passing through, and all of this bullshit about 'Save the Planet' is so incredibly ignorant as to be laughable. Mother Earth doesn't need saving. We are the ones who need saving. Mother Earth will be just fine for billions more years after we're gone, and you can bet your bottom dollar that one day, we will be gone, just like the dinosaurs.

i couldn't agree more. it's called geology, climate, biology, extinction, adaptation, passing the torch. aka mother earth. we are piss ants in the grand scheme of things. even if some of us end up in heaven or hell, we're still piss ants in the big picture of the cosmos, let alone our piss ant planet. don't get me wrong, i like our little piss ant planet a lot, and my piss ant little spark of a life form, but we're all still piss ants. don't get me wrong, i love my little piss ant brief spark of imperfect existence and our little planet, but we're still piss ants. Thank You Jim, Have no clue how I discovered Carlin ages ago but he remains, to me, the funniest comedian. Have most of his recorded work and simply love to see his face in Dogma. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Carlin was funny when he was young or younger. Turned into a bitter old asshole toward the end. That said, he was spot on with this bit. _______________________ “There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.” ― Frank Zappa

Plowing straight ahead come what may |
Wise King Solomon put down his wise words in the Hebrew Scriptures in the book of Ecclesiastes concerning the future of man and his relationship with the planet in the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 1 verse 4... "One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh; And the earth abideth for forever" The creator had these words put down to educate The generations to come that the earth will always be here... George Carlin just told it in another way in his standup act. ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet
