I finally bit the bullet and picked up a plate carrier and Level IV plates. Do you guys have any recommendations on accessories other than the kangaroo pouch for mags?

The kangaroo pouch is nice to put "stuff" in.

I'd toss on a mag pouch; something for AR & Pistol mags, and a flashlight at a minimum.

Nice - I'm with you in the "better to have and not needed it, than need and not have it" crowd.

I'd add a TQ to the vest but that is about it. It's already heavy enough before putting more stuff on and if you have the vest, you should have a rifle.

And make sure to put the plates in the carrier. Wink

The softest mattress you can find.

If you have the gumption to throw that on when an acorn hits your roof, you are gonna need some rest time during the day.

IFAK, cell phone pouch w a set of hands free wired earbuds so you can call the popo after you coral BG / BGs or get into a shoot.

Dont suppose you can fit a GSD in the vest? Cause, you know....that would be great.

Thank you for the suggestions and the funnies. I'll pick up a couple pistol mag pouches, mag assist for the mags, and look into IFAK's.

And pretty soon you somewhat sleek bare bones rig will weigh 75#.

There is a place for comfort and compromise at our current threat level.

Yes, I know that the extra stuff is nice but have it available to add should things change.

I'm waiting for someone to create a tow able reloading press so you can top off in lulls...

Take a look around here if you want to add some pouches and what-not, but don't want to add much weight:

https://www.blueforcegear.com/

A few months ago, I revamped my plate carrier by shedding a bunch of old magazine and what-not pouches for some of BFG's Ten-Speed pouches.
