I've come to appreciate my Pixie machine. With Lavazza or Peet's pods, I get a palatable brew quickly and easily. And only $0.50 per cup. It's a low maintenance product - no issues and just clean out the pod container every day or so. However, especially first thing in the morning when I'm still waking up (and when others may still be asleep), the machine makes a horrible racket. I think it's the water pump but not sure. It's a bit grating. Any chance someone knows of what is making this noise and has first hand experience on how to eliminate or reduce it? Or at least change it to something less grating? My first guess would be the vibratory pump that creates the brew pressure. That is assuming it happens when you brew. You could crack it open and look for anything loose that may be amplifying the noise. Gear and rotary pumps are quiet but also much larger and much more expensive. Probably not a viable option. I see. Okay, thanks. Perhaps I can try making a small soundproof isolation chamber instead. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned." Shepherd Book | |||
