maxwayneOn This Date In 1949 The First Lone Ranger TV show Was Shown
I can't help but believe the Lone Ranger and all of the other Saturday cowboys were responsible for many of us in believing in the one honest man with a gun idea.

lastmanstandingI love my early westerns. When I was a kid and now that I'm retired I spend early mornings watching them all again. The Lone Ranger was one I didn't care for as a kid and I care for it less now. Same with Roy Rodgers.

Pipe SmokerThanks for that, maxwayne!
My folks didn’t get a TV set until 1950. A 16” Admiral console.
Then all of the Saturday morning TV shows!
Several cowboys shows, The Three Stooges, The Tons of Fun, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, Our Gang.

We got our TV a couple years later. It's ironic that even that early in television history, it already was heavy with reruns!
