Clothes Dryer vent cleaning tool recommendations
This is the one that I have and I used the drill and the shopvac, but I like living on the edge.

Was using the drill everything you hoped it would be? Smile

It's starting to sound like the plunging and extraction are equally important.

I have used once about 4 years ago, and it worked well. I also used it from the back of the dryer towards the lint trap just in case. The other day, I was thinking that it's time to do it again.

I have the same situation and the same tool with the added extension.
Luckily no 90° bends but a few small bends in the attic and vents out of the roof.
It works great with the shop vac.

This thread was a good reminder that I should do it again as well..

For years I'd simply blow compressed air from my 33 gal compressor up the vent pipe.
But this tool cleaned out stuff the blown air didn't get for years.

I bought this. 2 Hp air compressor is not enough to drive it

My vent goes into the wall behind the dryer then makes an immediate 90’ turn then out to the side of the house. But it’s about 8 feet from inside intake from dryer to the exterior wall in my driveway.

I had a guy come blow it out and he had a scrubber/ polishing ball on end of a stiff wire for his drill looked like the polishing attachment for auto wheels

He had to go from both directions. Best tool he had was a camera lens on a long wire that he could get in there and look on a hand held Monitor. Reminded me of the camera you get with a rectal exam. Previous owner hadn’t cleaned it in 10+ years. Amount of funk we pulled out was impressive.

Sorry don’t have the brand name of his attachment. It did scrub the solid ~4 inch vent pipe and get all the dryer lint off the sides of the pipe.

Is this some sort of yucky undesirable upstairs area?

Wait - can we use the drill there too?!?
