Makes me sad. I have always been more of a DC guy, but Spiderman and The Punisher were all time faves of mine.

He had a good run, and I always liked his cameos in the movies.

And I liked Marvel Comics best.

I was a big fan when I was a kid... used to have a subscription to Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk comic books...

Stan started Marvel with Jack Kirby in 1961 with The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers.

Stan made cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

My first books I purchased on my own by peddling to the drug store were Marvel comic books.
Thank you Stan.

R.I.P. Stan Lee

Grew up reading mostly Marvel Comics, Spider Man and The Defenders/Avengers were my favorites. Although I liked the Spider Man, Captain America tv shows too.

I was a Marvel guy from the first time I picked up a Spiderman comic in the 60's. Peter Parker was me....do you know how often I looked for a radioactive spider?????? Spidey was immediately followed by Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, X-Men (Wolverine team), Daredevil, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Shang Chi (Master of Kung Fu...between comics, Bruce Lee, and Kwai Chang Caine began my life long love of the Martial Arts), and the others. I especially liked the monthly team up comics.

Mr. Lee, thank you for hours of enjoyment as a youth, teenager, and adult. May "The One Above All" greet and welcome you in the afterlife.

Stan Lee was truly a treasure. He made my childhood a wonderful and magical time. I spent countless hours reading comics, imagining my own adventures and exploring my imagination. The world is going to be a bit dimmer without him.

I was never big into comic books, but what kid didn't love super heroes, regardless?

I can't imagine the thrill he got out of the last several years, with so many of his characters coming to life on screen, seeming to be able to convincingly do the things he, and we, only dreamed of in the decades past.

RIP, Stan.
