So when you're a convicted felon you lose certain rights, such as voting, limited search and seizure rights, right to own a firearm and several others.
If the right to vote is so ingrained into the rights of a democracy that felons should have the abilty to vote after conviction but while still in prison and even afterward while out on probation, why take the right away from them in the first place?
And if you're going to restore one's voting rights, since under some theories you've paid your debt to society upon release, I don't hear Bernie, AOC, Harris, Warren and the rest of them advocating for the return of your ability to own firearms.

let them vote
just don't count them until they're out of jail and have their rights restored
or its much simpler just to say the Bern is a blithering idiot and keep things the way they are
there is enough democratic voter fraud going on we don't need prisoners voting

If people convicted of a felony keep the right to vote while in prison they should be allowed to own/possess firearms while in prison.

That's where I stand. If the idea is to allow felons the right to vote, given that the right to vote by citizens is spelled-out in the 15th & 19th Amendments, then the rights of gun owners, seized property owners, and victims of liberal search n'seizure laws should also be in-play.
Liberals want to pick n'play which rights they want to defend, it's either one or the other.

I hope he says that Mexicans should be able to vote in our elections--and Guatemalans, and Hondurans. And Canadians. I mean, South Americans, North Americans-- we're all Americans! Everybody votes!
