I sat in the back of a Mustang Shelby GT350 and had my kids give it a try as well. I imagine a convertible with the top down wouldn't require as many contorsions to get in and out of as well as having infinite head room, but legroom is still going to be tight. [Jedi hand wave]I don't believe it's the convertible you are looking for.[/Jedi hand wave]

Besides, with your hobbies, XinTX above has nailed what you need.

manuals are getting harder to find. some additional models in your list of preferences..

audi a5/s5 can be found with manuals
jag xk's still had recent manuals.

older MB SL's had manuals, circa 2005, no backseat really though.

my brother had an s5 coupe v8 before the turbo's invaded...
car ran good for about 90K miles and sold. dont remember any issues or extended stays in the shop..sample of 1, though.

This would be my choice. Aston Martin DB11 Volante. They should have a stick-shift available next year, giving you more time to save up for it./Droll humor off/

No. Sadly when Nissan FINALLY decided to import the Skyline/GTR they only offered a shittastic dual clutch/auto tranny.

I thought the track or Nismo version would have a stick but I couldn’t see one. It’s still not a bad option.

Now you're talking. I have a 1967 2+2 coupe, owned it since 1986. I refer to it as "two tons of fun"......

Two fine examples of what I refer to as Great American Cars -- because they stretch from Sea to Shining Sea. Wink

My first 2+2 was a 66,had it from 1970-76. Originally a base 336 hp 421 with a four speed, the engine was replaced with a 69 400 Ram Air III

Those rear louvers 1966 quarter panels were cool but also a curse when it came to insurance times. The louvers in the quarter panels entailed a different Fisher Body number so Pontiac for that one year only assigned those cars to a new series, the 5437 and 5467, 37 being a hardtop and 67 being convertible. And the insurance companies assigned those cars a surcharge because they were lumped in with GTO's as performance cars. Regardless you could order the same drivetrain even in a four door Catalina, the 2+2 was considered a muscle car because of it's VIN. I found all this out with my first visit to an insurance company, twelve hundred dollars a year liability only on IIRC a dollar seventy five cents an hour paycheck.

I see that convertible was at Vanguard Motors. I turned down an offer to go to work there with a friend. It would be good times but I don't want to drive from here to Plymouth daily. I don't miss the commute on I-96 a bit.......
