It was an Icelandic Hot Dog wrapped in bacon with peppers and onion on a panini grilled bun. The thing about Icelandic hot dogs is they are made out of more lamb than pork.
Think I need to find another one.

lastmanstandingI've got a package of Kobe beef hot dogs in the freezer. Just trying to decide what classic recipe I want to use. I'm thinking Chicago style.
Never heard of the Icelandic brand. Did you buy it from a hot dog vendor or where did you come across it?

It came from a convenience store on the side of the road. Don’t know if they are imported to the states, yet. Must find another......

What a depressing thought, to have peaked so early in your hotdog eating career.

pwelch001What's this about bacon wrapping, peppers, etc? You put a pretty amazing, tasty visual in our heads, right at breakfast time. Maybe you could explain and expand a little?

I’m a bad man and didn’t take any pics. Didn’t realize how awesome that dog was till I was about half way thru it. Now it’s just a memory.....
I asked the driver if we were going to stop back at that store one the way back from our trip and he said no.
Pics if I am so fortunate to experience again.

JALLENThe hot dogs at Costco are pretty decent and only $1.50 including drink with refill. You can ask for sauerkraut, too.
There was a place in San Diego, near UTC, that specialized in Chicago Hot Dog variations. Those were really good, but not cheap. They made their own chips, too.

Picture shows 5, but description on the page says you get 10...$2.50 a dog isn't that bad.

TexasScrubI dunno, Maverick Market hot dogs, when cooked outside on the grill under the tent, on a hot day, with grilled onions on a King Hawaiian bun, lightly toasted.
Sorry, I just drooled myself into a coma.
