I have a friend in England, who would like to have my collection of gun magazines. Could be ten-fifteen pounds. Any ideas on cheapest way to ship overseas ?

Sent a two ounce envelope to Denmark this week....one of the slower options cost me $14 USPS. Fastest, 3 day I think, was $91 .

Good Luck.

I'd check with Fed-Ex too.

Possibly media mail?

If you can get them in a Flat Rate box, it the same price up to 70lbs.

Can you use the flat rate boxes for overseas shipping?

Asking my buddy in Yoojeen, that's going to cost you around $150.

Is it really worth it?

Media mail would be the most economical solution in the US, but it is unclear if media mail rates are eligible for international shipments: https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/173.htm

Also, since I initially misunderstood, "gun magazines" means reading material not metallic gun magazines.

Are you sure these aren't classified as porn in England?

Porn would probably have more of a chance to get through without the thought police grabbing it. Smile
I would send him a link to read it (the gun mags.) online. Shipping is going to be really expensive.

Not quite that bad. If you can fit them in a large USPS international flat rate box, it will only cost you $91. If you can fit them in a medium box (not likely), the price drops to $69.

I’ve used flat rates for overseas and many charities send books to soldiers deployed using media mail, but maybe that’s special since it goes to an APO address.

Probably not. Our small-town major book-seller offers Guns and Ammo, Handgunner and at least two combat-y style magazines.

Along with around fourteen/fifteen UK-based guns and shooting mags, I think they are quite safe here from being classed as porn, unless, of course, you are talking about 'gun-porn.

One monthly magazine, Gun Mart, has an internet site worth looking at, especially before you post any more **** about shooting in the UK. My latest hard-copy has a 28-page section given over to just one dealer...

I ship frequently to Switzerland using USPS. The Flat Rate boxes (various sizes) are the best value but you want to max out the 20# limit. If you're under 13#, then go normal airmail.

Yes, special. You are only paying from your location to the point in the US like the east coast where it then heads overseas on US dime.

Get a FedEx Account and call FedEx Great Rates Hotline. They provide discounts up to 65% for individual international shipments over 11lbs.

It's going to cost you.

I shipped a box of American goodies like cookies, candy, chips etc to my friends in Germany and it was maybe a 15-20 lbs box and it was like $80.
