This came with a building I purchased. You can see in the image it consists of (8) modules which made from 1/4" thick steel, including the doors, so I'm thinking they should be pretty secure and heavy. Thinking I could utilize two or three of them myself for handguns. The problem is each box is obviously keyed differently, in addition a second master key is required to be used in conjunction which would be way too cumbersome. I guess I should get in touch with a locksmith to determine what would be involved to re-key them, or if not feasible change the locks to all use the same key, or same two keys. If I could just purchase the new locks I don't see why I couldn't change them all myself. Thoughts? No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

That's awesome! I would get them re-keyed all the same, paint it with "hammered" style paint, and have the mother of all handgun safes in my office.

No I hadn't but great suggestion, thanks. I'll contact them now. I hate to think what it might cost but I'll find out. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

They just replied to my email; "The 7700 lock is a double changeable lock, you can contact a local locksmith for pricing on the changing" I was hoping to buy the locks themselves and change them myself because there are so many of them. I'll search for a locksmith and see if they'll just sell me the locks or if they can re-key them. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Based on that, I don't think you even need to buy new locks, you should just be able to buy a bunch of pins of the correct dimensions and rekey the existing ones. Rekeying a lock is fiddly because the bits are tiny but it isn't complicated.

Or just leave the customer keys in their respective locks. No good without your master. _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. You are teaching people how to treat you.

If it's a double changeable lock, then they should be able to "program" the locks to whatever keys you have. The key you're referring to as a master is actually a guard key, and the individual keys are referred to as the renters. Since you have the guard key, and it's already the same among all the locks, then you simply need to have a locksmith who works with safe deposit boxes come out and set the renter's side of the locks to the same key. Make sure you also get several copies of that key.

It is a branch bank which vacated and adjoined a rental property I have. Even though it was vacant I thought it made sense to buy it at the price negotiated since it adjoined. Of course that was 5 months ago, less than two months later the virus came so I'm sitting on it for now.
LOL I certainly checked but they cleaned them all out.
I'm thinking two modules for me should do it, I really don't need any but I like the looks of them and could put two side by side with a work bench on top in my shop.
Could do that leaving them unlocked I guess. But what if some idiot broke in and took or broke off all the keys trying to get in? I would prefer to have the "guard key" somehow left permanently unlocked and the "renter key" be the same for all, or at least for all that I keep.
Just a small branch bank property. The building is 3,100' on two floors, the lower floor day-lighting which accesses a 3 lane drive through.
Thanks for your interest if I end up selling some of them I'll let you know. I don't know what each set would weigh, guessing maybe 600#, but they'll not be easy to move.
Yes I think they left 2 customer keys for each one.
Hmmm

You should also be able to remove the locker for one of the 2 keys so that you just need 1 key to open it.

I'd also be interested if you decide to sell. Though, I'm not sure it would be feasible to ship them.
