I'm warning you... it's easy to get sucked into this guy's channel. If I lived near Sarasota I'd absolutely go to see his performance live.

The fact that he doesn't know the song and puts this together in minutes...amazing.

He listens to her...doesn't blow her off because he doesn't know the song...takes a minute search on the internet and creates an experience for her.

Very cool...thanks for posting.

Dude is for sure talented.

I make no bones about saying I normally hate autotune. Like, truly fucking HATE it; it’s so completely OVERdone in WAY too many tracks any more.

But I freely admit “89 Plus” ("the Maserati song”) has totally got me hooked right now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOLCp-zi7IM

And this “version” is even cleaner:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB2L9tjIEt8

Would love to have this on my Spotify streaming, followed by “Amish Whip” right behind it. Just to set the cruise on a long empty SR at 2 a.m. on a 75 degree cloudless night with all the windows down and the moonroof open and my girl’s hand in my mine; just chillin’ and takin’ it all in...

No doubt the gentleman has some talent.
However, much of of the sound is done with smoke and mirrors.
In fact by his own admission he knows little and makes it up as he goes.
I am not nocking him as he has made the most out of being versatile.
Drum machines, auto-tune and online lyrics go a long way but he is talented.
I still value original music with a higher value.
Still it is very entertaining but it does not wow me.
YMMV

Then you should spend a little time when you have it to listen to some of his other stuff when it’s just his actual voice and his guitar.

Trust me: like I said, I normally hate the shit out of autotune; electro drum kits; etc; so I totally get where you’re coming from. But there’s ZERO bullshit where his guitar skills are concerned. He even does one when somebody asked him to do some Ed Sheeran. And, even though it had “some" Sheeran in his on-the-fly version (which, clearly, is his “thing”), it also had some Clapton in it which really made me start paying attention. Just sayin’.

And, just FYI: 89 Plus IS original music/lyrics. As it turns out, it’s one of many originals he’s done.

Not trying to “make” you fall in love with this cat or anything. Like I said, I TOTALLY get where you’re coming from; normally, that’s ME, too.

But, here’s one without all the synth bullshit (save, a little keyboard). An actual band. His actual voice. Just swish it around, and see what you think. If nothing else, even if you don’t like it, maybe it’ll allow you to appreciate his true talent a little more. I know it did me. Check it:

Never said I didn't like him.
Just that his talent in addition to his musical part (which is not slight) is the ability to use all the technology available to him (and the latter may be his "true" talent as you say).
Still he entertains and that is what counts.
Nothing wrong with any of it

FWIW, there is a 2017 documentary on Amazon Prime (maybe other places) called "Hired Gun".
It is about a handful of virtuosos who play on all the big name bands for a gig, a show or a recording.
THAT is TRUE talent, IMO and generally not done with auto-tune and drum machines but even that stops a bit short of your own original music.

THAT is TRUE talent,

I have prime and watched it. So you're comparing musicians that auditioned against the best of the best to play in iconic bands, literally less than 20 people in a world with 7+ billion people to this guy.

Roll Eyes

That's like comparing Grayson Boucher aka The Professor to LeBron James or Michael Jordan.

I don't suppose you could explain how your obtuse mind works that would prompt you to make such a statement.
I can assure you that whatever assumption you think I made you made was from ignorance.

Just STFU and stay out of my thread. You came in and took a dump in the middle of the floor then had the audacity to play "who me?" and then go on to try and psycho analyze me. I can play that game too bub.

I see right through your passive aggressive bullshit. "He's talented but.... let me point out all the things that make him less of a musician... smoke and mirrors, auto tune, drum machines. Oh you want to see REAL TALENT? Watch this documentary on the elite of the elite playing for iconic bands. GTFO and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Everyone who posted in this thread said something positive, sans you. Other members even tried to reason with you by suggesting some of his sets that show him playing in a group and you respond with your "well if you want to see REAL TALENT" bullshit. Says a lot.

^^^^ The nice square, with the white statue, that he is shown to play in is in Sarasota, IIRC from a previous video where this question was answered. He has played in other places.

I really like his playing. I saw another couple of videos where someone askes if knows such and such song, and he replies that he doesn't know any songs, because he likes to play them his way. I like that. I can find 50 bazallion songs that are covered almost exactly the same as the original and that's boring.

As someone who plays electric guitar and has played on stage in front of audiences of 1000's and played in many many jams with players way better than me...

This guy is cringe-worthy.
