SHOOTIN BLANKSNew Motorcycle Day
Honestly a few days old now. Long story short, I've owned several BMW bikes over the years but moved to Harley after my only close BMW dealer closed up shop. Between wanting to get back to a BMW and a couple dealers opening within a two hour drive, I picked up this new-to-me 2012 K1600 GT with really low miles. Happy boy just waiting on spring to arrive.

PHPaulNice!
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

YooperSigsI traded my BMW on a new Harley. Big mistake! I like the K Models and if can find one priced right, I may jump.

P250UA5I've sat on a few K bikes in the showroom. Very large, but doesn't feel it [sitting still in a clean showroom]
When my dad was still riding, his 'retirement' bike was going to be a K16B

HRKNice looking bike, that windshield looks enormous, should keep the wind off of you!

4MUL8RBe sure to visit the K1600 forum. There you will find out all sorts of things you absolutely must purchase, maintain, upgrade, carry as spares, learn how to do, and in general be one of the cool kids.

ridewvOutstanding, and Kissell delivered it for you to boot!
I picked up a 25 1300GS leftover from them just last month but they wouldn't have been able to get their truck to my drive so I drove the 2.5 hours there and picked it up myself.
Here I am ready to leave, my trade loaded in the trailer.
The weather wasn't conducive for riding until recently but I was finally able to take it out Sunday.
No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Mark in MichiganSHOOTIN,
Nice looking bike. I'm sure you will enjoy it when the weather improves.
Why did you choose the in-line 4 K series bike over the traditional Boxer twin R series Beemer? Just curious.
Best regards,

The delivery was a nice plus. And they don't mess around. I live almost exactly two hours from the dealer and that guy was in my driveway at 8:15am and I was his third delivery already! They were great to deal with. In the off season they offer free pick up and delivery for service work and the rest of the bikes on board were service bikes headed home.

I have owned both R and K bikes and for me it is a blonde/brunette thing. But there is no substitute for 160 RWHP.

Yes Kissell is very accommodating, Josh runs a nice dealership. He said they don't have chains for their truck. They would have eventually delivered mine after most of the snow melted but that would have been a couple more weeks so I just dug out the box trailer and went myself. It's an easy 2.5 hour drive for me each way.

Roady toadyWhat is this strange itch all the sudden? Enjoy and be safe. Only been out once for a short ride. More real soon, with any luck.

calugoCongrats on the new to you K16 they are great bikes and the best bike in their class. I owned a 2014GT as well as a K16GTL and enjoyed them both. I currently own a 2025 R1300GSA, 2021 R1250RT and a 2023 Gen III Hayabusa.

Wow, I had no idea the HP was that much. Significantly more than the ~60 HP that my 1978 R 100/7 provided.
Thanks and I hope you get to enjoy riding it soon.
