Agreed. I'll finish the bag of Southwestern but won't get them again. Was going to try the Honey Mustard but will pass on those now as well.
I just ate half a bag of the original flavor while watching an episode of "The Rockford Files". I should put them in a small bowl instead of eating right out of the bag.

We bought a 2 pounder yesterday. Can’t put them down. Darn health food.

I don’t like the Southwest at all. I like the honey mustard as it really tastes like honey and mustard, but I can put the honey mustard away after having a few and say I’m good. That’s not easy to do with the original.

I live in the Southwest and Mrs. Flash and I both prefer the Southwest Seasoned type.

Agreed- original for me. The others are too strong.

Southwestern: Had kind of an odd flavor and was not very "Southwestern" to me. I expected chili and cumin, etc but it was not that at all to me
Original: Still the BEST!
Original are definitely still the best in my opinion. My grocery store just started carrying the cheese curls so today I bought a bag. I don’t know. They taste good but to me they have the texture of a stale Cheeto even though you just opened the bag.

Saw my first bag in an end of the aisle display in Safeway (original flavor only). Somehow, one of the bags leapt into the shopping cart. Very tasty, if a little salty. Good with peanut butter, too. Dot (picture on the back) looks just like my little sister.

OK, this thread caused us to buy a bag of Dots Pretzels (now on bag #2). I don’t know what it is that makes the taste of these pretzels so different from every other I’ve ever had, but they are, and we like them.

Finished my first bag of Dots Original and found them to be quite tasty. However, their flavor seemed to mute after eating a few which kept me from eating the whole bag at once. Probably a good thing.

Yep, started getting them a year or two ago.
However, unlike typical pretzels, all the buttery texture and flavor seems to spike the calorie content. Read the nutrition label - like 110 Calories per serving and 13 servings in the bag. So that's like 1500 calories per bag, similar to potato chips or other deep fried snacks. "Boring" pretzels are basically crunchy bread and not as high in calories.

But maybe less salt:
Whole Foods Pretzel Twists 1 oz 110 calories Sodium 400g
Dot’s Original Pretzels 1 oz 130 calories Sodium 360g
Serious about crackers.

I may be one of the few who don't like these things, but I do not.
The "buttery" flavor seems like fake butter to me. It tastes like the weird butter-flavored grease they have at a movie theater for popcorn. It tastes artificial and unpleasant to me.
The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Your post about fake butter reminded me of a recipe Mrs. Flash used to make prior to us finding Dot's pretzels. Tastes a lot like her pretzels.
1 Bag of small twist pretzels (about 16 ounces)
1/2 bottle of popcorn butter (around 6 ounces)
5-1/2 teaspoons Hidden ValleyRanch Salad Dressing And Seasoning Powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
Directions:
1. Pour bag of pretzels into a large bowl. Sprinkle 5-1/2 teaspoons Hidden Valley Ranch powder, garlic powder and lemon pepper over the pretzels. Pour 1/2 bottle of popcorn oil over pretels.
2. Stir gently to coat the pretzels. Stir every 15 minutes or until the oil doesn't pool at the bottom of the bowl (about 2 hours). The pretzels will eventually absorb the oil and the spices will coat the outside. Can be made days ahead. Store in airtight container.
Good for her I say, hopefully Hershey Foods doesn’t screw them up
Like what General Mills did to Gardetto’s Snak-Ens. Gift and estate taxes are often an issue with these companies. The owners can’t pass the company to their heirs without triggering massive taxes that they don’t have the cash to pay, so they are forced to sell the company to raise the cash.
