its not often I root for failure, but I was hoping this rocket would have had a RUD somewhere along the ascent

he just launched 60 more pieces of space debris contaminating the night sky and making another section unusable for scientific astronomy.

by the time Muskrat is done, the Chilean astronomers expect that almost 1/3 of the night sky will be rendered useless...

so much for looking for that earth-kiler asteroid

I don't know much about these things, but I assumed our best view of those asteroids would be through a lens in orbit, no?

Unfortunately average people will get more use out of his network that looking at the sky, especially considering the light pollution already rampant in the USA.

And if there is a planet killing asteroid coming, I'm of the opinion it's better to just not know it's coming - because we are all dead anyway - it won't be like the movies.

Statistically, does that project really increase the number of man-made objects in orbit?

when finished, 43,600 new pieces of junk of dubious usefulness in low earth orbit

why add to the problem, one would have thought that Muskrat would figure out a way to clean it up before dirtying it up more

if I recall, there are three other companies that are jumping on the mega-constellation bandwagon and will double the number of SpaceX crap

Well, haters are always gonna hate.

I see this as a 2 prong business approach - the first being a way for him to diversify from electric cars, solar power, and rockets - the second as a way to prove the reusability of SpaceX rockets without having to risk a 'paying' customer's payload while pushing the envelope of the Falcon 9s reusability.

They have already started to take measures to reduce the visual signature of the Starlink sats, but still everyone has to bitch about something.

And the reason no one has started 'cleaning up space' is there is no business case for it (yet). But but but, I know he's RICH and SHOULD just DO it because, well because. Wink
