We discussed the options and honestly went horizontal so I would have to cut less and less seams. I’m good with it this way.

Bar is just about done, although I have to add 2 more metal strips to the bottom sides. The bar top came out as good as can be expected for what we paid.

There are rocks in the epoxy, which we actually told him we didn't like when looking at examples. But you can't see them unless sitting at the bar. He also didn't put in the glow in the dark flakes that we asked for. I think he put rocks because the amount of epoxy needed was excessive and expensive (30 gallons I believe he said). The LED lights change color as you can see. There are a couple of spots where the strip had to be repaired so there is no light in 2 spots but it's really not noticeable. I'm nitpicking.

Also on the front edge some of the epoxy must not have been mixed right as it is soft and sticky in just a little spot. I guess I'll try to repair that somehow if it doesn't dry. The entire bar top could have been a bit more shiny. I'm thinking I can buff that once I research what to use.

We paid about $2K for the top. We saw similar for over $8K in most places so, while this isn't perfect, it works for a home bar.

We have a local combat disabled veteran that makes these flags. I found it on Facebook and he made one for my bar. I can't wait to hang it. He sent me pictures of the process from plain wood to flag. Pretty cool and glad to support a veteran.

frayedends, can you post up his contact info? That is pretty awesome and maybe you can drum up some business for him. I would like to get one of those for my Dad.

Sure. He's on Facebook and from what I see he may only do local selling. But his page link is below and his email address.

Well we are just about at the finish line. Just final touch up, decorating, cleaning and a few HVAC issues to correct.

So here we are...

Heading downstairs

Bang a left to the bathroom

Take a right from the stairs and you come down this hall into the bar/living area.

Standing with my back to the slider to outside (walkout basement) you get a vibe for the entire bar and living room.

And of course a new door mat for outside...
