The world famous SF Taiko Dojo performed at my Aikido school today. They will henceforth be sharing our class space for practice.

Always enjoyed that...

When I was practicing Kendo there was a Taiko drum group in the area, several members were also Kenshi. They always performed at the huge Kendo tournament held here every February.

Yes, certainly is. On B street, at the very south end of downtown. Check us out sometime if you can.

I have numerous albums from the likes of Kitaro and Kodo that feature those great drums.

For those who don't know these groups, check YouTube for videos.

I climbed Mt Fuji and came down a different route and came down a different route, near the bottom I came across a drum festival. I spent 2 hours enjoying that. It was absolutely amazing.

I used to live for about 10-years in Foster City and Burlingame, and spent a fair amount of time in downtown SM. Slurped ramen at Himawari and shopped at Suruki Market, god their marinated black cod was spectacular. I'm further north now but, I do miss the Peninsula.

Very cool.
I saw and heard something similar last year at a big karate tournament in Albuquerque.

Picture taken as the drummers warmed up before the tournament.
