I once spent two days on the QE2 in thirty foot seas. The poop is going to have to share space with the vomit.

Not sure how much food you could store?
I was thinking about that, too. Even if he could survive on cheese and wine, could he pack a three-month supply? Then there's water consumption and storage.

How does he plan to stay out of the shipping lanes and not be hit by large vessels?

Well. Unlike the two assholes bought and sunk their sailboat a while ago, this guy has half a plan. Hardened against waves and Orca attacks, a way to get up and out for fresh air, a porthole to observe life below the water.

Sounds like he has his shit together and expects it to take a long time.

Good luck to him.

And no one should waste a single dollar to go look for this clown when he fails to answer the radio or a checkpoint....

I have personally terminated an manifestly unsafe voyage when I was in the CG....these kinds of idiots are everywhere.

Ha ! no kidding. I think he is a philosopher. At 71 I think he's exactly where he needs to be. Godspeed to him including hurricanes, plate tectonic shifts, great white sharks and rogue superwaves. Sickly romantic too.

WhTs the oceanic condition where there is no wind, no currents, and water is very calm called? Doldrums? At least he doesn't have to worry about furling and unfurling sails. Or running out of diesel fuel.

Would be a good time to write a book..providing you get to finish it, and reminds me of a book I read several times as a teenager, Sir Francis Chicester's The Lonely Sea and the Lonely Sky.

A 22LR pistol would probably be a good thing to carry on board. Just say'in.

Some one should cue the pix of the guy who was found on board his ship lost at sea. He looked to be well into his seventies when found. It was a fascinating photograph.
