flashguyI occasionally touch up the beard or moustache, but mostly it's done by my barber.

71 TRUCKI do my own with a basic hair/beard trimmer that has a depth gauge.I set mine on 4 and it leaves just the right hair for my taste.

HobbsTrimmers with depth gauges don't work for me ... even a No7. Tried it and uniform hair length just didn't work for the facial contours. Maybe if the overall length were shorter and I shaved my neck ... but don't want to shave anything, so it has to be longer than a No.4 to cover.
More recent one from the other night before I got out the WAHL Peanut clippers. Didn't have my teeth in, was waiting for my plants to dry so I could water them again.

Nickelsig229I keep mine at about 3/16ths with a clipper and keep the edges clean with a double edge razor.
I couldn't imagine paying someone twice a week for that service.
Shameless brag over my four month old niece!

TwistJust me. I touch it up once or twice per week. Nothing else is necessary.

PrefontaineNever had any interest. I prefer a clean close shave. I do use a trimmer, a #2 guard, for the scalp. I don’t own a hair brush, a comb, a hair dyer, because I have zero need for any of it. I do trim the men parts beard because the ladies like it groomed.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

powermad#3 on top every two weeks for my Son and I
1/8" for the caterpillars every two weeks.
I let the face go during the winter and #3 top and bottom in the summer.
In fact I'm due today.

tatortoddI had a beard or goatee the 7 years I lived in Alaska and Canada. I always trimmed it myself, and used a #4 in winter and #3 in summer.
I moved back to Houston in summer '16 and it was too damn hot to have a beard. Also, I escape the ivory tower every month or two and visit a refinery or chem plant where I am not allowed to have a beard or goatee so that a respirator will seal in the event of emergency.
Every time I'm told I have to shave, I really miss being in Upstream projects since there wasn't any hydrocarbons present we had the choice of facial hair or no facial hair.

SIGWALLYI do but it is NOT working out well. I keep going for "Sexy stubble" but all I get is "Creepy homeless guy". Oh well...

PHPaul1/2" comb/guard on our Oster clippers every other time Mrs. PHPaul trims my gourd.
That gets done with the smallest guard (1/8"??) just to keep the pointy metal part of the clippers off my noggin.

dar185It hasn’t been with my barber closed. Guess I need to figure out how to do it myself.

bald1I've had a beard since the early mid-70s with a minor lapse when the Navy changed it's rules. Always took care of trimming chores myself. Since retiring I've allowed it to grow somewhat longer than the old regs but, all considered, it's still in the neatly trimmed nautical style as shown in my avatar.

Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club!

Pale HorseMe. I’ve shaved my head since I was in high school so I can easily do that. I’ve only shaved my face with a razor once since leaving the Marines and I’ll never do it again.
My beard is not very clean cut. I don’t use oils or anything either. I’m fortunate to have a job where it doesn’t matter. The two times I’ve had job interviews I’ve gone to a barber but other than that I basically trim it just enough to keep the hairs out of my mouth.

TigerDoreI had no idea that Michael Parks was on this forum.
(I trim mine every day with a Braun beard trimmer, it's easier that way)

BeancookerHere’s a fairly recent one. Beard is chopped down to minimal as I wear a mask at work for the entire day. If it gets too long, the mask makes the beard itchier than spending the night on a mattress with fleas, bedbugs, and scabies.

Not only that, but the masks look pants-on-head stupid with a long beard. For nearly three months now, I've shaved nice and close and smooth every day.
Before that, I always trimmed my own.

Same but different ... Maybe better than looking like a walking 70's panties advertisement that needs a trim. I don't care. Like hat head, it gives me mask beard though.
