I have lunch at Shake Shack a couple of times a week. The little Shack Burger is tasty and not too calorific.

Lots of diners get the Cheesy Fries too. They look sooo good to me, but the burger AND fries don’t fit into my self-imposed calorie budget.

So yesterday I ordered the Cheesy Fries instead of the burger. They were indeed delicious. Lots of melted cheese dribbled over the crispy fries. I’ll be doing this again.

They are delicious indeed! Maybe we should institute a SIGforum Cheesey Fries day . . .

We have a local chain here in the Philly region called Chickie’s and Pete’s, a sports bar with the original in South Philly near the two sports stadiums.

They are famous for their Crab Fries which are crinkle fries heavily seasoned with an Old Bay type seasoning and served with not a cheese sauce but instead straight up melted down white American cheese in a big cup for dipping.

I am not shitting you, I could eat like 3 pounds of them in a sitting if you let me.

We have a Shake Shack here in the Bham but I have not tried it. The cheese fries may push me over the edge. Thanks for contributing to the delinquency of my eating habits.

Yeah, we have a taqueria we go to occasionally and they have a carne asada fries plate that is killer, and heavy. More than I can eat in one sitting.

Is this actual cheese, or some kind of orange colored petroleum by-product extruded out of a nozzle in a factory in New Jersey? (Like convenience store “nacho cheese”)

Asking because “melted cheese” and “dribbled over” seem somewhat contradictory to me.

Every evening I finish supper with good cheese: Jarlsberg, Cheddar, Leicester, Gruyere, Brie, etc.

The cheese that Shake Shack dribbles onto fries isn’t any of those. But guess what – those Cheesy Fries are damned good.
