I have been on the no scaffold program for a long time. Ladders have been tough. Hopefully I will be full mobile by this spring.

My favorite breeds are Birkshire and mangalsta birkshire cross. I found the Birks, to grow out big and fast, with excellent food utilization, but still maintaining the old breed fat content and marbling, the mang make excellent meat with excellent fat and a ton of lard, but they grow much slower and don’t utilize the feed nearly as well.

I've heard great things about the Birkshire on the farm as well as on the dinner plate. It's on the short list and hopefully once I buy the land there is somebody nearby that sells Birk feeder pigs.

Do you butcher yourself or take it to a processor?

First covering snow last night in central KY, of course everyone freaks out. Milk and bread!...

My wife wants me to hang a Christmas wreath on the barn, so hopefully, I will not be joining you with Ortho issues!! Big Grin

A few things to watch (if you are so inclined):
On Prime (Amazon) - 2 seasons of the Reacher series, it was entertaining, based on the movie.

Also 4 seasons of Man in the High Castle. A fascinating fiction story where Germany and Japan won the war. 40 episodes in all, it will burn up some time!

Start with the first episode.

My doc did not require dental clearance, but I had to jump through a ton of hoops. I feel like the process could certainly be streamlined, but it did go pretty well. Had to get a leg ct that insurance wouldn’t pay for but I am pretty sure it ended up better since they used the robot to guide the saw.

I have always done my own processing. I also stun and stick all the hogs I raise for others. The best hogs deserve to not know what hit em in the end, I treat them to a good life and a painless death. Well treated animals always taste better.

Decided to move a door that goes from the closet to the attic (original location half obstructed and made getting Christmas decorations, etc in and out an even more annoying chore). Got door moved, some drywall repair, put on the first coat of paint, only to remember that I suck at mudding drywall! Another coat, waiting for it to dry for sanding, and after another day behind my self imposed schedule, the second coat of paint is done and I can move on to next steps. Still not what I would like, but at least its a closet.

I got my right rotator cuff tear fixed this year; I’m scheduled for January 6 for the left. I won’t be bedridden, but at least I’ll get a few weeks off work!

I am about to be on a no scaffold program as well. In fact this may be the last time. It's a young man's game!

Ha! No scaling. What's not shown in the photo is the switchback stairs used to ascend. They're about 18" wide. At the top of the scaffolding, about 56 feet off the building floor, is a temporary floor that is about 8 feet from the underside of the roof deck. This is what the contractors are using for installing ductwork, sprinkler piping, conduits, etc. between the roof deck and the theater ceiling that will eventually be installed.

The facility is a new music and performing arts center for a local university (RIT). It's a pretty cool project. I know the guy that designed the fire pump and various sprinkler systems to protect the building. Smile

I was Mr tough guy until 48 hours after the party. Then the nerve blocks all wore off. Now 24+ hours into the suck, no trace of boredom left. I just hope this thing works.

First pt appointment was this afternoon, the nice lady gave me some stretches and exercises that were very helpful, but not pleasant. Still stuck in bed a lot, but I feel like things are getting better. Kids are all here now, so that is a big plus as well. Heading to the living room now to eat like a semi human for the first time since last Thursday. Still do not have much of an appetite, but a pie was made today so ye ha!
