Otto you also might come across a situation if the daughter needs some type of serious disipline that you will have to limit access to the imedate area between the daughter and her four legged protectors................... drill sgt.

Case in point,
Back in the 60's,
Bonnie called her three young boys in to get washed up for supper.

Queenie , the out yard, red Doberman was in " her spot" on a rug under the flowering bush.

Again , Bonnie hollered a bit louder at three kids to get in the house now !


Again the three heard but ignored her,

Now Bonnie was going to be heard up close and personal,
She got two steps off the back stoop, the screen door banged wide open against the house,
With a yard stick in her hand.

By the fourth step Queenie had covered thirty feet and gotten in between her and the boys, she was seated with her ears back and only one bark stopped Bonnie in her tracks ,
Thirty feet from her target.


It was the only time Queenie ever showed aggressive behavior at a family member.

The boys laid down their toys and crept past the dog quietly.

The same dog never moved a muscle when salesman drove into the barn yard,
Until one of their feet touched the gravel ,

Ya, acquaintance had a little girl with 2 rotties as guards. Little girl loved going to park - dogs escorted her. One day kid got hurt on swingset and no one could get near to help.
That said, it’s an adorable photo!

I had to kick the door in on an unresponsive female a few weeks back. She was down on the floor in the living room when I got there, and I could see her through the front window. Her two dogs (a big Pitt and a Lab) were unimpressed. The Pitt was pretty chill and just barked from the corner (we managed to back him into a closet and shut the door), but that Lab stood over her and made it very clear that he was going to fight us all if we tried to get to her.

Thankfully the lady's dad was next door and knew the dog. He was able to come get it so we could get to her and have the medics do their thing. Impossible to be mad at the dog for doing its job...I was just impressed that a lab was more aggressively protective than the Pitt.
