I remember as a teen going to pulls. This was before the mechanical sleds they use presently. A steel sled with a weighted tractor on the sled with 15 folding chairs per side with men on them.As the puller went down the track they would jump on the sled at 10 foot intervals. Traction and balance were as important as torque.

Been to a number of NHRA events. The Top Fuel nitro methane monsters can really provide some explosive entertainment. Still can't believe the power a 500 cubic inch 8 cylinder motor can make. Over 10,000 HP!!! And when all those parts and pieces aren't happy.......BA-BOOM!
