Why? NRA only has about 5% of gun owners as members. As a benchmark, the number of gun owners is pretty similar to the number of registered voters. This year ~65% of registered voters voted. I'd like to see a NRA leader with both a goal and a plan to get to 20 to 30 million NRA members. That would make us an 800 lb gorrilla that causes Congressional critters to piss their pants at the thought of going against us. The goal should be increasing membership and donations. Gun rights are civil rights and should not be a right/left issue. Choosing a leader with little qualification beyond being a hunter and the silver spoon fed son of an extremely divisive president is probably not the way to grow the organization. Wayne has to go. His replacement needs to be better thought out than Don Jr. heading the NRA will really piss off the libs.

If Don Jr. became President of the NRA I’d become a lifetime member. I think he’d be an excellent choice.

The libs will be pissed at anything the NRA does, the name Trump just makes them see red while also turning off a number moderates. I'd be in favor of somebody like Colion Noir as head, besides being a practicing lawyer and comfortable in front of the camera advocating for 2A rights, he'll also pull-in a younger audience, something that all historic organizations struggle with.

That's a good idea. I think Don Jr. has political ambitions of his own rather than heading up the NRA. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor
