Well you're talking about actual skilled classical musicians that you go to see perform while you actually listen to them present real music. No need to fill in missing gaps by adding your own 'performance air-art' accompaniment. Mindless self expression at a formal concert is NOT a thing of beauty, IMHO.

Ignored facts still exist |
There are real reasons to not say "dead" or "deceased" on radio channels, but Smurfs Astroworld staff were instructed to refer to dead concert-goers as "Smurfs," according to a 56-page security and emergency medical response plan obtained by CNN and authored by Austin, Texas-based concert promoter Scoremore. The wide-ranging document outlines contingencies and instructions for staff responding to different situations at the festival, which ended Friday night with the deaths of eight concert-goers as a result of a deadly crowd surge. .

Large gatherings of people, celebrity adulation, loud distracting noises like music and lighting, all can contribute to riot behavior. Seems like such tragedies, regardless of music genre, happen every five years and thus we're reminded that rowdy, emotionally charged gatherings are ripe to go in the wrong direction. Scott is one of the leading 'rap/hip-hop artists' of the music industry and one of the smarter ones, there's a lot of people relying on his 'brand' for their incomes thus, he's going to get a lot of cover in the midst of this investigation. McDonald's earlier partnered with him to co-brand/endorse a meal deal. I don't eat/shop at McD's but, this co-branding meal deal thing has taken-off like wildfire for them and it all started with Scott. Play Station and a number of fashion apparel brands have worked with Scott in co-branding efforts seeing a boost in both of their business' as a result. It'll be interesting how this investigation goes and who will get blamed. I'm betting Scott will be shielded from the blame and won't be impacted like the Great White-concert fire in '03 that greatly affected the band.

He's a notorious piece of shit, really. This isn't rare at all from him. And I love loads of Hip Hop. Hopefully this hurts him deeply, financially and legally. He's as responsible as anyone, and is known to egg on such behaviors.

I've been to probably 150-200 concerts in the past (pre Cooties) and not had a problem, granted most were smaller venues, most general admin (no seats) and no rap, one local venue, The National, put up scanners at the entrance, a guy I used work with was there as a bouncer/security and I asked him why the security scanners, he commented that the venue was having more Rap type concerts and the last one (before the scanners were installed) had some crowd issues, as in a couple folks got stabbed, and one bouncer hurt , , https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Fighting the good fight |
His two prior convictions for crimes committed while inciting riots by enticing people to disregard security and rush the stage at his concerts, resulting in stampedes where audience members were injured, would indicate otherwise.

building up his I-Don't-Give-A-Fuck cred with his audience. The more they portray themselves as 'outlaws', 'renegades' or, 'thugs' the more it draws-in the younger crowd who sees rebellion as attractive. Its pathetic but, its also adolescence. Not saying he's a good guy but, demonizing others is fuel for the mob. Some of these guys are idiots who don't know when to turn it off, like that clown Tekashi69, others have a sense for how to work it out and make it business.

I've seen at least 100+ different HipHop shows in cities all around this country and world, out of the 500+ paid concerts I've seen in my life across all genres. Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, Philly, New Orleans, NYC, Paris, Tokyo, LA, SF, Oakland, Orlando, and on and on, events of all sizes. There is nothing meaningfully unique to HipHop shows that differs from the rest, beyond trivialities like how loud it was and so on. Metal/Rock shows - just as wild. This is a Travis Scott problem and very little else, if anything at all. I hope they hang his ass out to dry for his repeated blatant callousness and idiocy.

https://www.breitbart.com/ente...over-fatal-stampede/ The Astroworld Festival has been hit with a $10 billion lawsuit representing more than 1,500 concert-goers, the largest suit to date over the fatal stampede that has so far left ten people dead and many more injured. Attorney Brent Coon, founder of the Houston-based Brent Coon & Associates, is spearheading the mega lawsuit against rapper and headliner Travis Scott and other defendants. In a press release, Coon slammed the defendants for what he described as their effort to downplay their responsibility in the stampede. “We will roll over every rock in this matter. Everyone associated with these types of events has the power to halt conduct that is resulting in injury to attendees,” he said. The firm has requested the court consolidate the 1,547 cases involved into one courtroom to provide for more “efficient management” of the claims. Rapper Travis Scott is facing multiple lawsuits related to the AstroWorld stampede, which took place during a performance at NRG Park in Houston on November 5. As Breitbart News reported, attorney Thomas J. Henry has filed a $2 billion lawsuit on behalf of 282 alleged victims.

Years ago when it happened at The Who concert in 1979 they blamed it on seating not being assigned so everyone tried to rush to the best seats first. Because of that I though seating had to be assigned from that point on. There were stories of people that bent their knees so their feet didn't get stepped on dragging them down and they kept moving with the crowd even though their feet weren't touching the ground.

Any event that attracts that many rowdy, undisciplined people is not someplace I want to be. (As you might suspect, I don't like Rap, Hip Hop, Heavy Metal, or much of anything composed and performed after the 1940s.) flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

I was all set to argue with you, citing Sergei Prokofiev, but I did a bit of digging and found that my favorites among his work were composed before 1940. Kurt Weill? Nope, "Three Penny Opera" was composed in the early 1930s. Looks like I agree with you, other than maybe some of the Big Band stuff, which I also like (and played). Kenton, Ellington, etc. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
