I have this Street Guardian camera that I used in my truck. I replaced it with a dual front/rear unit, so this has just been collecting dust. Model: Street Guardian SG9665GC v3 It records just fine, but needs a few items: 1. mini-USB power cord 2. Micro-SD card 3. New 3M sticky pad It has a removable mounting plate that you stick to the windshield, but allows you to unhook the dash cam as needed. The plate is fixed to the back of the camera. It has a 3.5 mm jack for a GPS antenna to record your speed, but this is not required for just video recording. It also has a lens filter clipped on. Karmanator will choose in a few weeks or so.
