sig77The best way to cook bacon.
I used to think I would eat bacon no matter how under or overcooked. I will eat it anyway. However, my fiancé prefers it really undercooked and I am questioning myself now as each time she cooks it for herself I am baffled.

GT-40DOCI grew up seeing a 1# coffee can sitting on the top of the stove full of bacon "fryins'". Momma used it for most everything!!! Boy, what a great flavor.

BACON will be accepted any way you cook it.
Have you been to England? I spent 2weeks in 4 cities in 2017 and every place boiled bacon without crisping it. It was soggy, limp, and barely edible. I still powered through but kept thinking this (crimes against bacon) should’ve been the reason for kicking their ass in 1776 instead of something less important like tea and taxes.

archermanI cook my bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet as well, and reading this made me hungry, so here is today's lunch.

HRKOn the Traeger Smoker at 225, two pounds at a time. Think I'll do a video with the next round, post on utoob, use the karmanator and put it here... No Smell-o-vision will suck.

ubelongoutsidePut 3 different bacon cooking techniques to the test this morning.
1. On a preheated sheet with foil in the oven at 350
2. In a pan on the stove with just enough water to cover
3. In the microwave between 2 sheets of paper towel
The oven method was the hands down winner. Producing the best taste, texture, quantity, and ease of cleanup.
The water method produced perfect texture, but it lost some of its flavor.
The microwave method was surprisingly good. I'd say the only drawback to it is that it's tough to make much at a time and it used a lot of paper towel as for 3 pieces I needed a change of paper towel so 4 sheets for 3 pieces of bacon.
I'd definitely consider the microwave for just making up a couple slices quickly though. I did it in two 1 minute increments, and should have went 30 seconds on the last, but did 1 minute and it got a little overdone.

midwest guySkillet usually so I can save the fat. The saved bacon fat is good for omelet and hash browns.

italiaBaked on a broiler pan if cooking for both myself and wife. If I'm just doing 1-2 slices for myself with eggs, I just do the bacon in the fry pan before starting the eggs. #nomicrowavebacon
