According to Mikey, if you tax poor people, you make sure they have less discretionary income with which to hurt themselves. This will give them happier, longer lives. How did this clown make a fortune?

I think this video would have been vastly more useful if the minute or two before it starts wasn't edited out.

Edited or not, Bloomberg is a 100% control freak! Every time he opens his mouth out comes some nonsense about how he'd love to control others' behavior. Not only is he a loon, he's a dangerous loon. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

What an utterly worthless human being. He has been blowing up the radio and tv stations in Atlanta with his ads the last couple of weeks. ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1

Keep spending money little Mike. $188 mil to date. His past will come back to haunt him. You can win the Mayor job in NYC by spending into oblivion(nobody of merit really wants that job), not so with the Presidency. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

This Bloomberg SCUM BAG needs to be fully exposed for the PIECE OF SHIT he really is. I despise this bastard! He has upset elections all over the country because he thinks he is so smart, and he needs to be held accountable and suffer the consequences for his disruptions. I really hate all democrats that support these cancers to America and the world.

Taxing everyone IS a solid idea even if it is only a little bit. When everyone has skin in the game then everyone benefits. THAT is not what Bloomberg is saying or how most think. It is assumed that only the so called "rich" should pay and we all know that is flawed thought. Bloomberg has a convoluted idea of taxing drinks and other nonsense. He is right in the sense of a tax is a penalty and makes you change your actions. Just that he concentrates on all the wrong things.

It is, because it cuts out the part where he's talking about the particular type of tax in question. It makes it sound like he's talking about broad based income taxes. In fact, he's talking about specific "sin" taxes (tobacco, alcohol, famously his sugar based soda tax, etc.) as a way of decreasing mortality. If you don't know that, the whole tenor of the video changes.

The 'Tax the Poor' title was misleading to me, until I watched the video. He's not exactly saying the poor should pay more taxes, ie income taxes. He's saying certain items should be taxed more as a way to dissuade people from making poor choices. Do I have that right? It's no secret he wants to make good choices for people, because he doesn't believe that people should be free to make their own bad choices.

I agree and thank you to Jesse for posting the video that gives context.

Yes, while it isn't as drastic as it sounds in the video I posted, his "sin tax" is still based on the idea that he knows better than lower-income people about what is good for them. And they need the Great White Father to take care of them. This message has been edited. Last edited by: TigerDore,
