OK, its been a long time again. Not many of them in these parts. I guess some of it is the Covid/wuhan, and some is the bastard/Govenor the welfare folks elected. This one was down in the Horse Park. Yes, we have a horse park here in KY. One of the better uses for our tax dollars.

I don't hold much hope for the future of gun shows in KY. Basically we've been kicked out of the better venues because we're politically unpopular. But regardless, I had a good show.

That's the bad part. I was just dumping my dregs. Sold off an unopened sleeve of 5000 primers. No idea what I paid for them, probably in the last century. Then the ugly old ammo started selling. There was a bunch of ammo at the show, just like old times. My table pard sold off some 38s. I did manage to dump 600 .41 cal bullets. Smile Sold my last 41 mag so they were of no use. Sold a switchblade to a buddy.

My wife likes taking in money, so she had a bunch of light sales. Sold off some 45-70 ammo that was kind of distressed. But what I was doing was letting the "chislers" have their way. If they wanted to pay me $5 less, it was just OK with me. The 2 duffels I could barely carry were so light I carried them in the house with one hand. We're talking 100# lighter, total.

So I had a good day financially. Not very high profit wise, but lots of junk I had little use for gone. But all the usual characters seemed to look a little older and maybe a little fatter. Guess they aren't keeping their youthful figure and age, unlike me. Could be the Wuhan flu keeping them home, so they eat all the time.

Glad to hear you had a good show for the most part. Most shows by me are small, as you said, we are not very politically correct. Good deals are harder and harder to find and I have found places like Cabelas and Bass Pro,actually have better deals on both guns and ammo.. I had some fond times going to the gun show with my dad years ago.

Last show I was at was down in PA. MY B-I-L and I found some good deals on magazines but not much else. bought a couple ultrasonic cleaners and some items that those cleaners would work well on.

For a gun show to be good, you only need to find one screaming deal. Might even be something others don't notice.

You coming to NGD Oct 8/9?

South wing A - in my opinion the best venue at the fairgrounds.

My gut tells me it's going to be a helluva show and dacovid fear means we'll probably have the fairgrounds to ourselves. Enjoy them while they last.

As an ex-Californian, I went to my first Arizona gun show maybe two months ago. It still felt strange to walk out with a P365 XL 30 minutes after deciding to buy it. I know; what I was feeling was freedom.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I'd love to go to this show but I will be at the final Machine Gun Shoot/Gun Show to ever be held at Knob Creek. My son, daughter, son in law, brother, and nephew have been planning on attending this finale ever since we heard about it being the last one ever.

Sounds like it was poor planning to have a National Gun Day event the same weekend as KCR Machine Gun Shoot. Of course after October 9, there won't be any more conflicts.

It's a shame that this great event is ending. I was always proud that such an awesome event occurred in my home state. Spending the all day there with thousands of like minded gun owning citizens made me proud to be an American and a Kentuckian.

Many area shows have been cancelled but NGD was ok for fall 2000 and spring 21. Attendance was good at both shows and it was a treat having the extra space due to social distancing. Everything else was cancelled so unloading and parking was a breeze - can be a nightmare when 6 or 7 other events are going on at the fairgrounds.

Hate to see Knob Creek Machine gun shoot end. Ate at Mike Linnings one day last week thought of KC. I don't think NGD promoter ever looks at a calendar and there have been some local conflicts that cost him some dealers and attendees.

It's the internet buyers that keep the show afloat imho. The GB sellers have to keep coming up with inventory so there are usually a half dozen or more of the larger Gun Broker players working the aisles looking for bargains.

We're having gun shows on a fairly regular basis here.

I guess common sense broke out.

The best gun show I have ever seen is in Tulsa Oklahoma. It's advertised as the worlds largest. Shot Show is technically bigger but that's not a gun show. The next show is Nov 13-14 if it's like precovid it's very hard to see the place in two days.

This is a neat place. (I went up there some time in 2019.) Next to where they hold the gun show is an arena, easily the size of a football stadium, below ground level. There were no events going on at the time of my visit, unfortunately. The extra $5 to park my car was a little off-putting.

Been a bit off-putting the last number of shows I went to were more random hyped crap and plastic guns for more than in the LGS through which I walked, and found nothing to buy.

Still having them in NC but I missed 2 last weekend. Seems like I always got a prior commitment when there's a show. About 2 years since I've been to one.

I just went to a local, small show in Manassas Virginia. PITA to get from where I live, but out where I was meeting a buddy later in the day so why not. I did not spend a dime outside of the $6 entry fee. Lots of ammo, almost all of it consistently way over-priced. The cheapest 9mm I saw was $22 for 50 rounds of Belom (I have some, shoots okay, weak, and smells a bit like urine).

We have gunshows pretty regularly in VA. In fact, the Nation's gunshow will be in two weeks in Chantilly. I usually go to a few per year. Its big and well-attended.

Don't be so sure about the Chantilly show. My wife and I work the VCDL table at that show, pretty much every one for the past three years that hasn't been canceled due to Northam's CoVID lockdowns, but now they're housing Afghani refugees in the Expo building. Haven't heard that it is canceled yet, but we're expecting to any day now.

Wow! I managed to tread on two long running threads (CoV and AFG) in one post.
