Interesting tv buying experience at C o s t c o
Searching for a 50"-55" TV for a friend.

On the Monday after Thanksgiving,
Found a nice L G for $400.00.

Had it on a big orange cart when the TV sales helper suggested the same TV for $190.00.

It was returned that morning,
Offered the same warranty same everything as brand new.
SOLD!
loaded in to the van and checked the receipt.

Rang us up at the regular $400.00.

Walked in with the receipt,
They were so sorry ,
They sold it to me for $155.00.!

Couldn't believe it.
There's never a reason to shop for tv's elsewhere.

Check out the returned tv cart next time you are in Costco

I was about to post the extra warranty you get from using your Costco Visa but it looks like that is no longer offered as of Jan 2023 Confused

That happened to us as well..well sorta. We bought our son a TV for school. Ended up with a mid tier 55" TV and it rang up $50 less than the listed price.

Costco is the place I go to get TVs.

Just keep in mind that TV at Costco may not be the same TV you might buy elsewhere, they are built with cheaper components to get that price down. Same thing with computers.

I’m curious why the OP spelled it “C o s t c o”?

I have found that often Costco model numbers are the same, so the TVs are the same as in other places. You need to check the exact model number.

I have also found they are sometimes cheaper because they are a generation old.

Sometimes the changes are so minor that it does not matter.

The last time I bought there, they deducted the price of a third-party warranty and included the warranty as part of the advertised price.

The policies are always in flux, you need to check them and against the prices at Best Buy.

Best Buy can have better prices on sale.

I bought a 75" a couple years ago at Costco, Got home, wouldn't power up. packed it back up returned it the following day. swapped out no questions, they actually issued me a credit since the TV had gone on sale overnight

Costco isn't having the internals of TV's sold degraded or lesser parts, it's the same sets but they do have the manufacturer change the model number, so does Sams, Wal-Mart etc which helps determine who sold it, and what options it may have.

You will find a slight model number change on some tv's at big retailers and they eliminate a USB port or only have 2 HDMI's to reduce costs, but not inferior parts... Thats gone on at Wal-Mart for a long time.

Its how you get a $400 tv that's 55 inch.

Not challenging you, but I would like to see some documentation from an authentic source re "cheaper components." This could very well change some of my buying decisions.

Re "C o s t c o" -- I agree with you, and in fact I had intended to post the same question: Why do this? It certainly does not help when searching for threads. But, bendable, so not surprising.
